The manuscript for this work was written in a
cell at the Dick Conners High Medium prison for violent category
offenders. It was typed
by a friend and his wife who supplied me with all the medical data
and a great deal of caselaw which should be, but is not, available
at the prison. They
wish to remain anonymous.
Returned for editing and re-writing in longhand by inmate
Ronnie Whitehead who helped me considerably. It was written at a risk
similar to that taken by Anne Frank. I would not be able to
complete this work as you read it now but for my Guardian Angel Mary
Porch who kept me alive through this ordeal with methods of her
own. And it would have never
matured to
this website without the expert constructor Pamela C. Brook
in California. The risk taken writing this reminds me of a sick joke
I read in 1958 from a popular magazine: “Daddy, why must I be
allowed to only run in circles?” “Shut up or I’ll nail your
other foot to the floor!”
In prison, one is that helpless. To offer resistance or
complain of improprieties one is simply ignored or sent to a smaller
cell. To “make waves”
one risks drowning. No
longer gagged by the courts or the prison system I exercise my
1st Amendment Right. No longer helpless to only
run in circles. Now I
run only the risk of being silenced by a crazed “Oswald,” “Ruby,” or
“Jeremy Reed.” An
acceptable risk to acquire justice for my innocent
wife.
